About Wendy Reardon

Wendy Reardon is a retired nurse, semi-retired hairdresser, mother of two grown children and grandmother of three. People and children have always been her foremost interest.

Although this is the first printed version of these stories, it is by no means the first telling of them. In some form, many of the stories were told by Wendy years ago to her two children at bedtime and on long road trips. These are the stories of a family’s lives, their adventures, their problems, their sorrows and joys, their successes, failures, and fears.  These are the realities and problems of life answered and many times healed through the word of God, simplistically seen through the eyes of two young children Wendy named Mary and John.

With Wendy’s promotion to grandma, it became even more apparent to her the need in this world for the stories about Mary and John. Wendy’s full life has offered many great scripts for stories as she is such an adventurer herself and views life as a great adventure. Her experiences in caring for people as a hairdresser, a nurse, a volunteer rescue squad worker, a wife, a mother, and now a grandmother, have only strengthened her convictions and her faith in God. And now from her home in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, she embarks on a new adventure as a children’s author of Christian books.

Wendy’s perspective on storytelling interprets the challenges and difficulties in life as components of “The Great Adventure.” This follows a line of thinking where God’s ways are more interesting and exciting than the ways of mankind. It promotes the desire to look forward to what God will do next.
